Building a human health post was already planned from 2019 onwards, but had to be postponed for 3 years due to COVID. The plans are aligned with the Nepali Government and are compatible with the requirements as per regulation for “Local level: Ward level at Village or Urban Municipality” health posts in Nepal.
As per these requirements such a health post needs to provide the following:
Immunization, family planning, ante-natal care, normal delivery, new-born care, nutrition counseling, Treatment of TB and other common communicable diseases and conditions, management of epidemic, basic mental health service, counseling, screening and primary treatment of non-communicable diseases, medicine distribution, pathology lab and other diagnostic services, promotion and prevention of eye/sight and dental problems; and other diagnostic, curative, promotive, and preventive basic health services defined by the federal Ministry of Health.
Since 2019 the costs for the building have increased, as everywhere worldwide. We are now at around 50.000 Euro for the health post itself. As soon as the building is there, the Nepali Government has already confirmed that they would provide the 3 health workers. With this, sustainable and longterm human health support would be granted for Chepel and surrounding villages.
